School Cancellation Procedure

Should there be the need to delay or cancel school due to inclement weather, the decision will be communicated to families and staff using SchoolMessenger Communicate, our notification system.

Announcements will also be made on MAGIC 104 (104.5 FM), WMWV (93.5 FM), WCSH-TV Channel 6, WGME-TV Channel 13, and WMUR-TV Channel 9.  Announcements are generally made before 6:30 am and are repeated at the convenience of the stations.

In situations where the school can operate if opening time is delayed, the same procedure as outlined will apply. Any decision to delay will be for two hours.  Therefore, all school, school bus schedules and Project SUCCEED Morning Programming will be delayed by two hours and dismissal will be at the regular time.  

In extreme situations where school must be closed early, we will make every effort to coordinate the release with road agents.  The Superintendents of SAU#9 and SAU#13 will confer with one another and road agents, make a decision, and notify appropriate contacts an hour before the closing.

In Jackson and Conway, if the decision is made to hold a Remote School Instruction Day, that information will be communicated to families and staff.  

Early Release / PLC Schedule

The school calendar includes several scheduled early release days, along with regular PLC Early Release Wednesdays throughout the year. Additional unscheduled early releases may be announced by the Superintendent due to weather or other unexpected events. Dismissal times for these days are listed below.
