Welcome to our Classroom.
We are looking forward to a great year. Our doors are always open and we would love hear from our classroom parents and friends. Email is another great way to communicate so check our staff page for all our emails.
Homework:
2nd grade homework is sent home on Tuesday and Thursday nights. On Tuesdays there is Language Arts work (which includes studying the week’s spelling words). On Thursdays there is math work in addition to studying spelling words for the test on Friday.
2nd
graders are expected to read every night for at least 20 minutes!
Spelling:
Typically new spelling words are introduced on Monday with a spelling pre-test. We send the word list home on Tuesday. During the school week we continue to practice the words through various lessons. We end the week with a spelling test. Students should strive to master the spelling words for long-term knowledge, and not just for the test.
